Tributary

June 2, 2015. Another stormy day, rainclouds and conflict. I took a brief moment out of the office to look at the forest just up the road - this tributary runs between Halls Creek and the McLaughlin Reservoir 5 km to the north. This is the view looking north from Crowley Farm Road. If you look closely you can see the beaver swimming in the water. All this land and forest will be wiped out for what they're calling Hall's Creek Villages. Clearcutting to facilitate development in the area (what they call Village 1) has already contributed to flooding, and I'm sure nobody has costed the new bridge that will be required on Crowley Farm Road. It's a beautiful forest, and both the beaver and I will be sad to see it go. From Flickr http://ift.tt/1cxo8nM
